RAWIYA راوية — FIVE FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHERS FROM ACROSS THE MIDDLE EAST

Rawiya is collectively excited to join in the brainstorming with so many diverse and creative photographers. We would like to take the opportunity to introduce ourselves….

Rawiya presents an insider’s view of a region in flux, balancing its contradictions while reflecting on social and political issues and stereotypes. Rawiya, meaning ‘she who tells a story’, brings together the experiences and photographic styles of Laura Boushnak, Dalia Khamissy, Tanya Habjouqa, Newsha Tavakolian, and Tamara Abdul Hadi.

Please bear with us as our website http://www.rawiya.net is updated this week by an amazing young Beirut based designer. In the meantime, do say hello at rawiya.collective[at]gmail[dot]com if you have any questions.

We are plotting thematically flâneur from our respective corners in Jerusalem, Beirut, Ramallah, and Tehran. Cannot wait to see this mesh together in Derby.

Warmest,
Rawiya
