ticking off my New Year’s wish list

on an earlier post, I wished everyone an activ(ist) new year highlighting few campaigns people in the arts should join. These campaigns still need support from and for all of us working in the arts!

there were also wishes, which were related to applications I have been working on over Christmas.

I am very pleased to share with you the good news related to successful applications for funding and also to pin 2 new logos in our blog:

our application with Human Endevour for a Small Art Grant has been successful! the collective will give a workshop in Derby on 11th and 12th February. They will also produce locally new photographs to be included to their ongoing project ‘Degeneration‘ which will be exhibited as part of ‘The Flâneur‘ collective exhibition.

the Step Beyond travel grants for 3 members of Rawiya collective (Dalia Khamissy, Tanya Habjouqa and Tamara Abdul Hadi) to attend the Collectives Encounter. on the online application, there were space for one departure country only. because I am more superstitious than cynical, I decided to make Dalia Khamissy (who is Lebanese and Palestinian) travel from Israel; yet, this would NEVER happen! I am pretty sure it helped!

many thanks to Derby City Council for supporting again Photo-Festivals and the Collectives Encounter and to the European Cultural Foundation for supporting cross-border exchanges and to help us promote women in Photography from the Greater Middle East region.
